Barbacoas

Barbacoas was one of the most exciting resurveys due to the relatively pristine condition of the forest there, and to the fact that it is still a poorly studied region of Colombia. A magical area full of culture and history, with a troubled past and a promising future for its people. And mostly, a unique biodiversity hotspot and a paradise for birds. This resurvey was framed in the Expediciones BIO “Alas, cantos y colores,” led by the Instituto Humboldt and the Instituto de Ciencias Naturales de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
